Press Release Summary: Dallas-based Shermco Industries has announced its schedule of
training classes available through the end of the year.

and training, announced its schedule of training classes available through December
2008. Classes include preparation for code exams, in-depth hands-on electrical
safety training for meeting OSHA electrical safety training requirements and the new
2009 NFPA 70E, as well as hands-on training programs for the maintenance and testing
of electrical power system devices and systems.

National Electric Code 2005 and 2008 – 9/10 * 12/3
Designed for anyone who needs to use the NEC effectively, this three-day training
program is especially useful if you are preparing for your Code exam. Learn your
weaknesses before you take the exam and learn what you need to pass. The course
covers the ICC block exams used by the State of Texas in all jurisdictions. Each
attendee will receive a copy of the current NEC and the new 2008 NEC will be covered
when it is issued. Class fee is $900.

Electrical Safety for Qualified Electrical Workers – 9/16 * 10/14 * 11/18 * 12/16
Expanded to allow more time for hands-on lab sessions, this 20-hour electrical
safety program meets OSHA’s mandated electrical safety training requirements for
becoming a qualified electrical worker. Designed for electrical workers and others
who may perform energized electrical work above 50 volts in industrial and
commercial facilities, including medium-voltage switchgear and other utilization
equipment, each attendee receives a copy of the NFPA 70E for future reference.
Class fee is $700 per person.

Programmable Logic Controllers – 9/22 * 12/1
A hands-on training course designed to provide electricians, maintenance personnel
and plant engineers with the basic information on programmable logic controllers, as
well as maintenance and troubleshooting techniques necessary to keep these products
running. Class fee is $990 per person.

Basic Electrical Technical Skills – 9/22 * 12/1
This 4-day training program is for new electrical workers. Electron theory or other
basic electricity is not taught. Rather, this course teaches specific skills and
knowledge required by new electrical workers. Class fee is $990 per person.

Electrical Print Reading – 9/29
Many electrical workers don’t know how to effectively read and use electrical
drawings and prints, wasting valuable company time and resources. This 3-day
training program is designed for anyone using electrical drawings in their work,
from single-line and three-lines to schematics. Practical exercises using actual
prints are used to reinforce lecture. Class fee is $900 per person.

Low and Medium-Voltage Circuit Breaker Maintenance - 10/6 * 12/8
This course covers theory, construction, operation, trouble shooting and control
circuits for 480V to 15,000V air-magnetic & vacuum circuit breakers. Learn what
tests to do and how to interpret the results. Students disassemble a wide variety of
circuit breakers, perform maintenance, reassemble breakers, then test during the
hands-on labs. Class fee is $1,430.00 per person

Electrical Safety for Managers – 10/13 * 12/15
This one-day course answers the questions and needs of supervisors, managers and
engineers who are responsible for or supervise electrical workers. Learn what your
exposure is in the event of an accident; what is required of you and how to protect
your company and your workers. This program offers solutions to those who are
concerned about what is needed to show OSHA \"Good Faith Effort\", limit fines and
liability, and ensure a safe work site. Each attendee will receive a copy of \"The
Electrical Safety Program Handbook\" for future reference. Class fee is $300.00 per
person.

Electrical Safety for Utilities – 10/17 * 11/24
This one day course provides updated worker safety information that is necessary for
utilities and others who work in substations and with overhead lines. Changes to
the NESC affecting arc flash hazards are also discussed. Hazards faced by employees
performing work on electric power generation, transmission, and distribution
installations pose a significant risk of injury or death to those employees. Over a
45-year working lifetime, more than14 of every 1,000 line workers will die from
hazards posed by their work. This program provides the training needed to reinforce
safe work practices by linemen and others involved with high-voltage power systems.
The Electrical Safety for Qualified Electrical Workers course or a similar course is
a pre-requisite. Class fee is $300 per person.

Electrical Safety Refresher Training – 10/20 * 12/22
This is a one-day practical electrical safety refresher course designed for
personnel who have already completed the OSHA-mandated electrical safety training.
Attendees will benefit from examples and videos designed to reacquaint them with
electrical hazards and the need for using PPE. Class fee is $300.

Fundamentals of Variable Frequency (AC) Drivers – 10/22
This sixteen hour course is designed to provide electricians, maintenance personnel,
and plant engineers with information on modern digital AC drives, as well as
maintenance and troubleshooting techniques necessary to keep these products running.
Class fee is $600 per person.

Substation Maintenance Seminar – 10/27
This four and a half day, newly updated training program is designed for
supervisors, foremen, managers, engineers and others who are responsible for the
maintenance and testing of substation equipment, but may not perform the work
themselves. Each attendee receives a copy of NETA’s MTS-05. Class fee is $1430 per
person.

Large Motor Maintenance – 10/27
Covering ac and dc machines, this 3 day, hands-on training program is designed for
maintenance and testing personnel tasked with keeping their motors running
efficiently. Motor failure is a major cost in any facility and this training
program will provide the information needed to minimize downtime. Each attendee
receives a copy of EASA’s “Principles of Large AC Motors” as a text for future
reference. Class fee is $900 per person.

Substation Maintenance 1 - 11/3
Designed for electrical workers and technicians responsible for the maintenance and
testing of medium voltage air and vacuum circuit breakers, battery systems and
ground systems, this hands-on course provides critical information needed to keep
substation equipment in service. Attendees receive a copy of NETA’s MTS-05 and
newly-updated course text for future reference. Class fee is $1,430 per person.

Substation Maintenance 2 - 11/10
This course is a continuation of Substation Maintenance 1, but is not taken
concurrently. This four and a half day training program is designed for technicians
and electrical workers who maintain and test transformers and protective relays.
Attendees receive a copy of NETA’s MTS-05 and a newly-updated course text for future
reference. Class fee is $1,430 per person.

Arc Flash Seminar – 11/21
This one day program is for managers, supervisors and employees who perform
operation or maintenance work on systems rated above 50 volts. It covers the
Fed/OSHA regulations which require arc flash protective PPE and clothing, the NFPA
70E and statistical data from the CDC/NIOSH on electrical injuries. The
interpretation of arc flash labels applied to equipment, including approach
distances and boundaries is also covered. This program is designed to ensure
employees are aware of the hazards, reduce the risk of working on or near energized
equipment, as well as come into compliance with OSHA regulations. Class fee is $300
per person.

Equipotential Grounding – 11/25
This fast-paced, eight-hour training program covers everything from the basic theory
of equipotential grounding to how to apply, inspect and test personal protective
ground clusters. Requirements of OSHA 1910.269 are covered, as well as ASTM
standard F2249. Learn to protect your personnel and understand what equipotential
grounding is and how it is best used. Class fee is $300 per person.

Understanding the NFPA 70E – 12/1
The NFPA 70E is one of the most important standards a company can have, but if no
one understands it, it won\'t help keep your personnel safe. This two-day program
will enable you to understand how to implement the 70E and receive the most benefit
from it. 2009 edition changes and how to use Tables 130.7 are covered in detail.
Each attendee will also receive a copy of the NFPA 70E for future reference. OSHA
currently uses the 70E in court to justify citations and fines - shouldn\'t you know
what they know? Class fee is $600.00 per person.

This program is taught by James R. White, the NETA Alternate Representative on the
NFPA 70E Committee and a member of the Word and Phrase and Tables task groups for
the 2009 edition.
